“To the Youths who march Onward and Upward toward the Light...”
Welcome to the website of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc - Nu Mu Chapter! We are seated at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA, and are committed to continuing our long legacy of excellence by promoting manly deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind. Make sure to look around so you can get an understanding of our history, achievements, initiatives, and brothers!
Chartered on April 2, 1977, our chapter has been holding high the name of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and guiding men towards the light for 43 years. Our Brothers have excelled on all levels: working & interning in Fortune 500 companies, traveling the world, transforming the political landscape of Atlanta, starting their own enterprises, and even winning Grammys! While these are all amazing accomplishments, I believe our most important quality is that we all have a strong belief in serving our campus and broader Atlanta community, and a desire to build up those around us and ourselves as well.
Throughout the tumultuous year that 2020 has shaped up to be, it is more important than ever to understand our duty to strengthen our community and be agents of change for positive progress. Moreover, it is more important than ever for us to reevaluate our place within our community in order for us to be the best example for those coming after us. Thus, whether this is toward internally developing our brothers to instill accountability in all spaces that we occupy, we shall always uphold the light for those who march towards progress and aid downtrodden humanity in its efforts to achieve higher social, economic, and intellectual status!
Within this past year on our campus, we have been recognized as a Burdell’s Best 5-Star Organization, the NPHC Pinnacle Award, Best Collaboration for Wreck the Vote, won Mr. 1908, gave away thousands of dollars in scholarships to our peers, and have had several individual brothers be recognized for their leadership skills in other on-campus organizations. Outside of campus, this past year we completed over 306 hours of community service, raised thousands of dollars for various charities, and were recognized at the District level for Chapter Brother of the Year Bro. Preston Akwule, Scholars Bowl, Debate, and Chapter Display.
