Pres Smiling

My name is Ahmad Hicks and it is with great honor and privilege to serve as president for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, Nu Mu Chapter! We are seated at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA, and are committed to continuing our long legacy of excellence by promoting manly deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind. Chartered on April 2, 1977, Nu Mu has been holding high the name of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., leading with purpose for 48 years.

On Georgia Tech’s campus we are constantly striving to positively impact the community around us. We have events such as Scholarship Sunday, in which we partner with the Georgia Tech Society of Black Engineers to give students a platform to study and enhance their academics while having the opportunity to win a scholarship to support their studies. In respecting womanhood to the best of our ability, we conduct an annual Miss Old Gold & Black scholarship pageant. Throughout the pageant, young collegiate women have the opportunity to showcase their talents and beauty while promoting a cause in which they choose to advocate for. In addition, pageant winners have the opportunity to win up to $1000 in scholarship money as well. These are just a couple of examples to highlight the great work we do but there is so much more, so be sure to stay tuned with all that we are doing.

Our leadership goes without saying as we have brothers who serve as Student Ambassadors, SGA representatives, Georgia Tech Campus Tour Guides, and Denning Technology & Management scholars just to name a few. We are truly dedicated to the impact we have to those around us.

We understand that right now it is more important than ever to uphold our duty in strengthening the community around us while being the positive change agents that the world most desperately needs. It is important for us to be the voice for our communities and do the work that is pivotal to progress society. This is why I encourage this chapter to be INTENTIONAL in all that we do and why Alpha Phi Alpha develops leaders while providing service and advocacy for our communities!

Please feel free to explore our website and social media pages and be sure to stay up to date on our events. If you have any questions, regarding working with us, membership, or other matters, please contact numualphas@gmail.com or me personally at ahicks39@gatech.edu.
